Barbara Hulanicki Releases Exclusive Archive Print Collection
Many don't know that Barbara started her career as a fashion illustrator. It was her first foray into fashion before her career as a designer where she created her own brand, Biba. Drawing has always been a release and inspiration for Barbara.
Fashion designers use mood boards for inspiration. As everyone likes to stay inspired now - Barbara wanted to create prints that allowed the younger generation to change up their room decor with their mood. These pinboard prints allow for just that! Barbara has brought out these prints from her archives to feature in her first exclusive collection.
These prints will be available during the summer. Barbara will be launching a new collection for each season. Follow @BarbaraHulanickiIllustrations on Instagram for the latest updates.
Barbara's collection is now live! You may purchase the summer collection here while they are still available.
Barbara discusses in this video how she decorates using the collection. In her other interview, she describes when she met Audrey Hepburn and what she thinks about the current fashion landscape.
We are going to be announcing a giveaway on @teenmodel's Instagram June 1st at 9 pm EST. Check out the post on @teenmodel for the chance to win one of Barbara's prints!
A little bit about Barbara Hulanicki:
Barbara Hulanicki, OBE RDI, Fashion Icon, Founder of Biba and Internationally renowned Designer
Barbara started her career in fashion as a fashion illustrator. She covered all of the important fashion collections in Europe for the major publications of the day, including Women's Wear Daily, British Vogue, the Times, the Observer and the Sunday Times.
Exasperated by the disastrous street fashion in England, her husband Fitz encouraged her to design her own clothing. Biba was born and eventually, expanded into a five story art deco building, flanked by rock stars and celebrities of the day. After Biba, she continued to work in Fashion, designing for Fiorucci and Cacharel as well as her own brand in Brazil.
In the nineties she arrived in Miami Beach where she designed interiors for Ron Wood of the Rolling Stones and Chris Blackwell’s Boutique Hotel Group. She is credited with the resurrection of Miami Beach’s crumbling Art Deco district.
Today Barbara continues to bring her innovative creativity to retailers such as Top Shop, George, Coccinelle, Habitat, Chesney, HomeSense and Graham & Brown.
